Greetings, fellow space enthusiasts! It's your favorite astronaut reporter, Crash Facepalm, reporting live from the never-ending party that is Concellation 2023!
Let me tell you, this convention has been out of this world! We've had panels with the likes of George R.R. Martin and J.K. Rowling, and I even saw Elon Musk wandering around in a cosplay of his own SpaceX rocket (I think he forgot he wasn't actually going to space).
The highlight of my weekend so far was definitely when I accidentally stumbled into a panel on "How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse" and ended up being the only human left in a room full of zombies (note to self: double-check the schedule). Luckily, my quick thinking and impressive dance moves saved the day and I made it out alive!
But it's not just the panels that have been amazing - the cosplay game here is on point! I've seen everything from a group dressed as the Fellowship of the Ring to a lone warrior in full armor and wielding a sword that looked like it could slice through steel. And don't even get me started on the Dalek that's been rolling around all weekend shouting "Exterminate!" at anyone who gets too close.
Of course, no convention would be complete without some unexpected surprises. Who knew that the "Alien Autopsy" panel would turn out to be an actual autopsy on a real alien? And I still can't believe that I got to play laser tag with Nathan Fillion and the cast of Firefly (spoiler alert: they won).
All in all, Concellation 2023 has been an absolute blast (both figuratively and literally - I'm pretty sure that last explosion was just part of the pyrotechnics for the "Starship Battle" panel). I can't wait to see what this crazy convention has in store for the rest of the week!
